Prayer of the Faithful
Praise and Thanksgiving to God for
the wonder of the Incarnation!

Thirty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time
As children of the day, who face life with hope,
let us pray to God with confidence.
For the church,
that God may protect and prosper it throughout the world,
We pray to the Lord
For civil authorities,
God may direct them along the ways of all that is good,
We pray to the Lord
For those among us who are suffering in mind or body,
that God may deliver them from pain and distress,
We pray to the Lord
For this assembly,
that God may empower us to build a more humane world,
We pray to the Lord
For those who have gone before us
in the discipleship of Christ,
that God may grant them refreshment, light, and peace,
We pray to the Lord
Gracious God, giver of all good gifts,
hear our prayers,
so that we may rejoice in the breadth of your kindness
and the depth of your mercy.
We ask this through Christ our Lord.
